Day 90

First I would like to apologize for not getting you news about the guys sooner, however this is the first chance I have gotten to write the events of yesterday down.

Also it is going to be a short blog, as Ken had to leave me voice messages on my phone because where they were staying was not going to have cell service and I was not at my phone when he called.

Yesterday the guys got up early, around 5:30 to try to run before the wind was too heavy. But that strategy failed as the wind ended up being stronger than ever all day. They even had to run through some windstorms. They had breakfast that was provided by their host and got on the road around 7am.

Andy was not feeling well at all as he spent most of the day walking. Although he was not feeling well he was happy because Kyle (Los) Walcott joined the guys for a couple of days. Los is creeping up high on the guest mileage list as he completed 10 miles yesterday and was planning on running even more over the duration of his visit.

Los was also a big help to the guys as he drove ahead of them to scope out the campsite, and then to join back up with the guys he hitch hiked back! He put his thumb out and the first car that passed picked him up.

Ken and Los ran a little ahead of DK and Andy so that Ken could make it to the Grand Canyon Village to pick up a package. His parents sent him a pair of sneakers, some cookies, and some other goodies. While they were there they picked some supplies for the next day and dinner. On the menu was Bratwurst. It was a good idea in theory, however when the guys tired to cook them over the fire they were too large for the sticks they had available to them and they kept breaking under the weight of the massive German delight.

They camped under the stars and rested for another long day today.

Thanks for reading!

-Dan
